Kindness Advent - Day 11

Kindness Advent – Day 11

When we were planning our advent calendar, we knew we would be in the middle of renovating the house. We also knew that we were on a limited budget, so we thought, “Why not make some gifts and send them to some special people?” After all, we do have a small business called Song and Story Millworks, right?

Back in the summer when we were planning our move from Texas to Tennessee, we asked some great friends of ours to help us sell our home. Mike and Loreena Yeo have a real estate company called 3:16 Team Realty and they are some of the hardest working servant-hearted people that we know. They were so kind to us that we felt it was only fitting to do a kindness mission for them. We made this custom sign for them out of some reclaimed barn wood.

We had one of our Texas kindness elves deliver it today…..

The 3:16 in their name refers to John 3:16, a verse you may know very well. Sometimes I feel like I know it so well that I just recite it and don’t stop to think about the truth it tells. But the message of John 3:16 IS the story of Christmas!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

One of our big motivations for doing this Kindness Advent was to teach our kids a different way of doing Christmas that honors Christ above all things. Maybe the best way to do that is to remind them of how God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son. I saw this tweet from our friend Justin the other day and thought it was such a great reminder.

It’s not just the easiest time of year to tell our kids about Jesus though. It’s the easiest time of year to tell everyone about Him. He’s in the songs we’re singing and the stories we’re telling. Don’t miss it!

Joy to the world the Lord has come! Let earth receive her King!

Thank you very much for the wonderful gift and thoughtful blog. We truly will tresured this gift. It just gives us the confirmation that what we do and called to do is to glory Him. Business isn’t always about making the dollar first. We truly believe that if we serve our client’s well, rewards will fall in place.

You guys too have given so much to us through the years of your ministry at Hope. That has truly blessed us and help us grow in our faith.

We sure missed seeing you guys and hearing your singing voices.

    We love ya’ll.
