Aubrey & I decided to start a juice cleanse this week. We just came out of a crazy busy season of moving, renovating, moving again & eating out way too much in the process! I was feeling way off track & in need of a major detox! Realistically, we all have times in our lives that priorities get switched around for whatever reason & that’s okay…we just have to make sure we don’t let it go on for too long or then it becomes our new norm!
We chose to do a juice fast because it’s a great way to reboot your system & also recondition your palate to crave healthier foods. They say the first 3 days are the hardest & that has been the case for me this go-round! I had a pretty severe headache the first day & have experienced a bit of fatigue overall. Aubrey, on the other hand is still his usual, chipper self! I’ve had to practice some serious self control not to growl at him! Ha!;) As easy as it would’ve been to quit at the first sign of discomfort, I knew that it was just my body detoxing from all the crap I’ve put into it & that was enough to keep me motivated!
Have you ever tried juicing? What has been your experience? I plan on posting more recipes & tips later this week…any specific questions? I’ll do my best to answer them!:)
I’m always so surprised & encouraged that the kids want to try whatever we’re having. Their personal favorite is beet+orange+carrot juice!

1 lime (peeled) ~ the lime takes away the dirt flavor of the beets, or at least some of it!;)
